Low Flush Toilet - Water Running ?

I recently had a new low flush toilet installed. Every couple of hours it sounds like the water is running in the tank. This only happens for about 5 seconds. Any idea what is causing it?

Most likely cause, flapper valve not seating properly. Check chain for a little slack when the valve is down. Check proper alignment, seating.

I agree with Bill. When the tank water level reaches a certain point, the fill valve opens and adds enough water to replenish to the proper level.
