Location of shower shut offs

Hi,
I will be replacing my shower and I want to install shutoffs. I would like to put them in the wall behind the faucet because there is nowhere else they can go. The shower is on the other side of the wall behind my stove. I.e. kitchen and bath are divided by a wall. Is there any problem with making an access panel behind the stove to operate the shut offs?

Thanks,
W

That will work---also consider a mixer with built in shut offs--they make changing the cartridge easy--the tiny shut offs are part of the mixer and accessible when the cover plate is removed---Mike---

Great info guys. Learn something new here almost every day. If/when I ever need to replace mine I'll look for a shower mixer with the shutoffs.

I have no access panels or shutoffs on my tub faucets either. If I ever have trouble with those and I can't find a cartridge quickly I guess I'll be busting out tile. :-/
