Lime build-up in shower drain

Build-up in drain is causing slow drain back-up problems. What can I use to desolve deposits that will be user friendly to a septic tank system?

Lime build-up in shower drain

Im not sure about its septic tank safeness but Ive read that white vinegar will do the trick. I have the same problem on my glass waterfall sink. It seems I can never get the glass clean from the lime and build up. It beautiful when its clean but it was only clean when it was brand new.
