Lift station check valve noise

I have a lift station in our basement that lifts the water/sewage through about 6ft in pipe to a pipe that leads out to the main sewer.

On the lift station there is a check valve about a foot above the lift with a check valve on it.

When the water slams back down on this valve it makes a loud clunk that can be heard throughout the entire house.

I have considered replacing the valve with one of the "Silent" valves which seem to get good reviews.

Anything else I can try?

The pipe is secured to the wall to prevent movement during pumping.

Would a second valve help at all so it doesn't have 6ft in pipe length to travel back down to the current valve?

Your complaint is quite common for pumps. Changing the valve might help but make sure it is designed to be used with your type of pump, and do not install a second check valve

What is the best way to found out the kind of valve needed? I know I need a 2" but what else is involved?
