leaky waste pipe

I found a puddle of water in my crawl space and it's coming from my PVC waste pipe. The leak occurs about 8-10 inches from the base of the vertical pipe, where it connects to the 90* elbow. Any ideas on how to stop the leak? I tried plumber's putty but that hasn't done anything.

An extremely easy fix with 2 couplings and a new 90, its definetly a DIY task and shouldn't cost you more then $15, and you might be able to find some scrap pipe at a construction site, you should't need more than 1' of pipe, just cut about 6" above the 90 and 6" after the 90, glue the coupling on each ends of the pipe, take some measurments with the 90 in hand cut the pieces you need and you should have enough play in the horizontal piping to push the 90 on to the vertical.
