Leaky shower valve

The hot water in my friend's bathtub constantly runs. Is this likely an old washer that needs to be replaced in the handle?

If so - how do we get this handle off? Kind of difficult to see in that little hole...maybe an allen wrench?

Leaky shower valve

That handle looks like an old Crane. If so, then the screw head would have been exposed in which case the screw may be broken or missing. Have you tried wiggling the handle to see if it will loosen? You may need a handle puller. Of course, once the handle is off your job is just starting. Now comes the fun part of pulling the stem and checking the bibb washer and seat. Be sure the water is off.
