Question

Leaky kohler gasket

Hello,

I had an old kohler toilet with the famous triangular gasket to connect the tank to the bowl. It was leaking apparently from that part each time you flush.

I changed the gasket today (and the rest as well), place the whole thing back (at least 3 times..) and it still leaks the same way (a small flow in the back, apparently going through the 3rd hole in the back). Oh it's leaking also only when you flush.

I'm starting to run out of options.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Nicolas

It's most likely cracked it sounds like. Put some food coloring in the tank it will come out we're the crack is. It's probably a chip by the gasket.

Thanks Mark!

I will probably look at that and replace the whole toilet if needed!

Leaky kohler gasket

This fix is not a recommended fix---However it can work--

Remove the tank (again) make a thick roll of plumbers putty and place it around the hole in the stool--

Reinstall the tank---and pray--Mike---
