leaky faucet contunues

i have a leaky faucet after replacing the gasket it still leaks. If i turn the knob back far enough it stops, sometimes it doesnt seal though and continues to leak.

the gasket i replaced, resembles the one on the far right. ...

theres a tube coming from outside into the faucet. theres a spring with a rubber grommet and then this piece on the right turns to open water flow. when i replaced the old piece, should i apply plumbers grease to it to fix the issue? or whats the solution?

does it drip from the faucet or tub spout or shower head?

this isnt a tub, its actually a bathroom sink. the image was only for representation. it leaks from the faucet, specifically the hot side.

would it be helpful to take actual pictures of it?

If its an old moen chateau style lav faucet i normally replace the whole cartride when i repair them, and yes grease it up really good with plumbers grease before reinstalling and make sure theres no burrs in the faucet before installing cartridge

there is a housing that goes over the hole thing to keep the pieces from flying. i think i have over tightened it, because now, it pops when i turn the water back and if i continue to tighten it will eventually become loose.

should i replace the housing? or what?

try removing the handle and seeing if the faucet stays closed.
sometimes its just a matter of how the little metal washer sits under there before installing handle

i decided to remove the plastic washer for the time being... seems like all is well... is there any chance it could release over night or if it works now, itll work later?
