Leaky Anti-Freeze Spigot Valve Stem

We noticed that the valve stem on our anti-freeze outdoor spigot has a small hole just beyond the handle. When we turn on the water, it drips from this small hole in the valve stem. Is this normal? Any way to stop the dripping?

Leaky Anti-Freeze Spigot Valve Stem

If the hose bib is not cracked from a freeze, you should be able to replace the valve stem. Get the make and model and go to your local plumbing supply house and get a replacement, or hire a plumber to be sure.
