Leaking vent pipe in attic

I received a text from my wife today informing me there was water on the ceiling in our laundry room.. I went home to find the vent pipe was not glued. I glued the pipe and have fan in the attic and the laundry room drying everything out. Is there anything else I should do?

Are you sure th leak was from the un-glued joint The only water in there would be rain water coming down the pipe. The more common cause of water leaks in that area is a deteriorated gasket on the vent boot on the roof.

Did you glue the bottom of the EL to the horizontal run? I don't see any primer on the pipe. If you did, spray the wet spot on the ceiling with a little bleach/water and forget it, it will dry out. You cant see light around the pipe when you look up at the vent where it goes through the All-Vent in the roof can you? Is the vertical pipe supported at the rafter above?

Ok I glued the pipe and let fans dry everything out over night.. I then sprayed water + bleach on the attic part and the area in the laundry room.. Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I forgot to add.. When I touched the pipe the pipe was not wet at all, only around the bottom where it wasn't glued. I can't see any day light between the roof and the
vent pipe.

You may need to put Kilz on any stains and re paint. Did you check for slope back to vertical branch and secure that pipe so it dosen't work its way down? If its in the middle between two trusses, just cut a piece of 2x 28 inches or so, nail it to the bottom of the top chord, so that it spans the trusses and buts the pipe. You can use a breeze clamp to hold it from moving, or even several turns the indomitable Duct Tape.
