Leaking Sink

The shiny pipes are new, the dark one that goes to the wall is the old one.

I just put in the shiny ones, but there is a leak where the new pipe connects to the old one.

What's most likely the best fix for this?

TIA

Mismatched parts.

You need to replace the old part (trap arm) also.

Your new chrome trap should have come with one.

Hard to tell from your picture, but you'll most likely have to open up the wall a bit to access the slip joint inside the wall.

When I replace that piece should I use teflon paste or plumbers tape on the threads?

TIA

Shouldn't matter, but if it makes you feel better go ahead.
