leaking 1 1/4" Brass Ball Valve

I have a 2 year old Brass 1 1/4" Ball Valve which was installed by the dealer
when I purchased my 1/2 HP Jacuzzi Jet water pump. It has just started to leak (small drops) from where the handle and holding nut are. I called my dealer and he said to close the valve, remove the outer nut and handle and turn down the other nut going into the Ball Valve. I have tried this several times but the leak is still there.

I would like to repair it so I do not have to dismantle all the plumbing before and after the valve.

The leak is very small and I was wondering if there is some way to fix it
or apply some type of sealant around the inner nut going into the valve
housing?

Would appreciate a solution from someone knowledgeable in this area

Thank you

It sounds as though you have a poorly machined valve. Some possibilities of sealing it would be to pack it with plumbers puddy, but that works best under light to no pressure. Another would be standard pipe dope, but again, they are both long shots and of course it would be best to just replace the valve.

You can try plumbers packing, it looks like a string. Just wind it around the valve stem and tighten the nut. You may have to do this twice as the stuff compresses quite a bit.
