Leak from pressure relief valve

i have a slow leak coming out of the pressure valve and was wondering if i have to change it or if there is another solution for the leak.

For about $15, you can replace it and feel safer. Either the spring is weakening or the valve opened and something got stuck under the seat. You could use the handle on the end of the valve to quickly open and shut the valve to see if it is a piece of debris holding the gate open. Be careful when doing this since you are dealing with hot water.

Chris,

Do you have a small blue tank attached to the cold supply of the waterheater? Also you should check your water pressure. It is possible that the spring is weak. Also very likely it is the result of failure of the expansion tank or too much water pressure.

Check your auto fill valve it might be stuck open continuously feeding boiler. Check pressure temp gage on front of the boiler if its near 30# it's to high. Should be around 12#

Cold this is a domestic water heater not a boiler.

Check your PRV. Maybe it failed and the T&P is just doing it's job?
