Laundry tub - do I need a double?

Hi again,
I want to replace my ancient laundry tub. The one in there now is a huge double sink. The problem is that it's so big I have to have the washer and dryer split up on either side and the washer is blocking the new electrical panel. I've looked at the tubs and thought maybe a single tub would be better since it's smaller and then I could have the washer/dryer next to each other away from the electrical box. Is there any reason I should not switch to a single tub or should I just look for a smaller double tub? Thanks!

For your information.... This one is pretty hard to enforce after the fact, but its still code... and being an electrician, nothing is more aggravating then this scenario...

Yes replace it with a single tub.

One other option is that newer washer/dryer units are stackable... so if you really love your double sink you can look into this...

I don't love the double tub so that's no problem. I just didn't know if there was some practical reason to keep it a double tub. I think I will go with the single. Now the problem is how on earth I'm going to get the old one out. It's heavy!

If its an old concrete laundry tub, a sledgehammer, couple of 5 gallon buckets and alot of energy is how you get it out.
