Laundry Sink Pump

My basement washing machine drains into a sink, where it's then pumped up and out. The pump attaches directly to the sink.

The pump only hums. Assuming that I can't repair it, any brand name recommendations?

Disconnect it and take it to a motor repair shop, and see if it can be repaired.

Meh - it's a DIY forum. If I can't fix it myself, I'll replace it.

Laundry Sink Pump

Just open up where the impeller is and see if it's jamed up with lint.

In the future, put a nylon stocking on the end of your washer hose to catch the lint. Joe is right. That pump is probably chocked with lint. If its humming is might be running dry. I would put the pump in a sump (Bucket Etc.) Then put 3/4 inch crushed clean blue stone around the pump. It acts as a filter of sorts
