Laundry faucet & trap seal tube connections

hi there....looking for advise on how to fix a leak between my laundry faucet and the trap seal tube. The tube recently split so I replaced it and attached a compression nut on the end. I also inserted a male to male union connector to the faucet so I can attach the tube to the faucet. The tube is no longer leaking but now the joint between union connector and faucet is leaking. Am I missing something that could prevent the leaking?
