Kraus Faucet shank too short for granite countertop

Need to install a Kraus Faucet in granite countertop, but faucet max
dimension is 1 1/2 in. and granite installation needs 2 3/8 inches. What
kind of extender can I use?

You will need to return the faucet and get one designed for a thick installation--sorry--

Why is the countertop 2 3/8" thick?

Probably including thickness of plywood below. If you cut out the plywood where the hole for the faucet needs to be will it fit?

If not you'll have to contact the manufacturer with your specific make and model to see if they even offer an extension.

Must be pretty thick granite/plywood. At most granite would be an inch and ply 3/4" I'd think.

Thank you all for your response. I really appreciate.

As I understand from my granite fabricator, a total of 2 3/8" faucet
shank would allow a proper installation; he says he is using 1/4" plywood.
I also learned from various plumbing supply stores in my area that an
extender made for the Kraus faucet (the Kraus faucet has only 1 1/2" shank) would support the proper installation but Kraus does not have one. Also, there are no generic extenders. Other mfgs such as Delta, Moen, and Am Standard have their own.

My question is: are their comparable extenders or generic ones that would work.

With only 1/4" plywood, cutting out the plywood would not satisfy the
needed length, would it?

Thank you for your help.

You and he are on-site. I just don't see why you ned 2 3/8" when you might have 11/2" of countertop and plywood to go through.

I agree ^^^^^

It sounds like you might need to double check with your granite guy. Don't think i've ever seen granite that thick, and why set it on 1/4" plywood? What exactly is that going to do besides run the bill up?

Same here. Never any plywood, no reason to use it. Granite here would be 1-1/8" thick max in all the cases I know of.
