Kohler Forte issues

The base seems to be rubbing against something and makes a squeak when you move the faucet left to right. Any ideas?

Call Kohler---there is an O-ring between the bottom and the moving faucet--it may be binding up---is the ring with the two screws under the counter tightened properly? If that is not tight---you will also get the sound you are describing.

Have someone move the faucet while you watch the retaining ring under the sink.

Yes the ring is tightened. The screws are also right. I just don't know why all of a sudden when you move the faucet the top lever is not supposed to shift. It shifts slightly about an inch for some reason that I can't figure out.

sounds like a loose screw under the handle.

I have no clue how to get under the handle. There are some links on their website, but I can't seem to find out how to do it.

Diagrams don't show any screw under the handle.

I'm confused- does the faucet body squeak when turned or is the handle loose?

When I move the faucet left or right the handle should not budge. It moves about an inch with a slight squeak that I heard from the base. Something somehow loosened up.
