kitchen sprayer troubleshooting

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong with my kitchen sprayer?

I have a price pfister kitchen sink with sprayer. the sprayer stopped working one day. No weak stream, no dribble, nothing.

I removed the diverter valve and cleaned it (it looked fine), reassembled, and the sprayer worked! An hour later, however, it stopped working again.

So I bought a new diverter valve, installed it, and the sprayer worked! until an hour later, when it didn't.

Do I need a new sprayer and hose or could it be something else? Thanks!!

Could be your water heater plastic dip tube is disintegrating. Look in the aerators of sink faucets.

What did you get out of clogged valve? What did it look like?

Hi Bob,

The valve was not clogged and there was no visible crud on it. I just removed the valve, soaked it it vinegar, rinsed it, and reassembled it.

Maybe there is a Tech Bulletin from Price Pfister on this problem.

If replacing the diverter valve and the other things that you tried didn't fix it, I would just repalce it. They are not expensive.
Good luck!
Mike
