kitchen sink plumbing w/extra pipe

That is obvious. The unvented running trap creates suction that activates the pitching machine.Across the kitchen there should be wall with home plate on the floor.Either that or,...in ancient egyptian times ........ I say it's time to bring a plumber with you.

Normal trap is called a P trap
Not sure what you call that one ..."O" trap for OMG ?
Trap goes to stack which should have a vent
Without a vent the water in the trap can be sucked out
That will allow sewerage gas to enter the house

Almost looks like someone tried to put in a AAV vent
But never heard of someone doing one like that

It looks like they had something teed into the sink drain like a portable dishwasher. Couldn't they at least have capped it? I wonder if there is a trap at the end of that.

yea, cause double trapping fixtures is a plus. Wouldn't that make the kitchen sink drain Triple trapped?
