Kitchen sink plumbing problem

I got an emergency call to come over to a lady friend's place to look at her plumbing. Yeah, it's not what you think, this is what I got to look at:

There's a blockage of some sorts in the pipes and water from the garbage disposal unit is backing up into the other sink. I took the whole assembly apart and flushed it and all sorts of goop came out but I suspect that there is a blockage downstream of the trap.

Question #1: Is this under kitchen sink plumbing plumbed correctly? My concern is the 180 degree turn of pipe after the trap.

In order to clean out the blockage downstream of the trap I'm going to have to cut the pipe because the section of pipe coming out of the floor has a 90 degree elbow affixed to the top of the pipe and I can't get my "DrainKing Bladder" (attached to a garden hose) around that bend and down into the pipe.

So, if I'm going to be replacing some of the piping, I might as well design a better flowing system but I'm not sure how to design such a arrangement.

Any suggestions on a redesign or on how to rebuild so that cleaning out the pipes in the future won't involve cutting?

cut s trap off replace with a sani t on top of run up put a air admittance valve in i would turn the t so it point correct to use a sink adapter then a p trap and hit a center double sink drain tube Assembly

This is a better example of what you'll probably have to do to get it to hook up properly :

Nothing really wrong with what is there except for lack of a vent.....

If you have specific questions about this installation please post them so they can be addressed. I don't really know what your mechanical skills are like.
