Kitchen Sink Faucet Removal issue

Can someone identify this part for me and suggest a way to remove it? It is the center bracket with long hex attached. I assume it secures the faucet in place.

Disco supply lines and use a basin wrench possibly? It does not look like the hex stem turns independent of the bracket. So the entire bracket turns?

Forgive my ignorance. I'm just trying to knock out this part of my Honey-Do list.

There was a special long, most likely plastic socket looking thing that came with that faucet.
Any socket with an extension on it will work.
Need to unhook your supply's and the sprayer.
