Kitchen Sink Drain

How long can my Trap Arm be? Does the Trap Arm need to be slanted toward the downward drain line?

Thanks.

Not sure what you are attempting to do. Most trap arms are only about a foot long. Is your fixure that far from the wall? You can add to the pipe from the wall and install a slip-joint fitting on the end of it to accept the trap arm. Need a little more info here. The arm should drain towards the wall (main drain).

Thanks for your reply. My P-Trap is actually only a few inches from the wall but the 1 1/2 inch drain pipe inside my wall needs to run horizontally approx 30 inches to the sanitary Tee due to blockage issues directly below the sink area.

I called it the "Trap Arm" only to make the point that it needs to run a ways horizontally before connecting to the downward drain. I wondered about the limits of that horizontal run inside my wall as well as the need to slant that short horizontal run.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply and for the max length of the Arm.
