Okay, I have had it with my kitchen sink. I thought it was clogged so I took off all the pipes and they were all clear. I then decided to do some methods for unclogging drains in the pipe going directly down in my floor. Now all the water went right down, so I assumed my method worked. No. I hooked all the pipes back up and BAM it is clogged. so I go to remove my pipes again and I notice the water is stopping in the elbow or Pea trap. However there is no blockage in there. So why is my water staying there and the flowing through the pipes? Any suggestions from anybody on what this could be.
Water should always stay in the p-trap or s-trap which ever you have. That is what keeps sewer gas from getting into your living space. Sewer gas not only stinks it is also potentially a health hazard and explosive hazard.
Your post says "I thought it was clogged". In my experience, there is usually no question it is clogged because the sink drains slowly or not at all. I am wondering if you are seeing water in the trap and assuming it should be empty???
