Kitchen faucet removal

I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread, but I couldn't find anything else in my search.

I'm trying to remove my existing kitchen faucet. The locking nut is like nothing I've seen before. Has anyone encountered something similar? A basin wrench is too small to grip it, plus the nut isn't threaded or thick enough to grip.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

You require something known as an adjustable pin spanner wrench. It'll have two pins which fit the holes in the bottom of that nut, allowing you to turn it.
