Kitchen Drain Leak

My leak is from the copper stub out. It is nothing big and non pressure so I am just looking for some insight as to what would be a simple fix.

I just went through a complete rebuild of my kitchen after a pin hole leak was found which damaged the sub floor and dry wall.

The wife thought it would be more cost effective to repair it all ourselves (myself :furious: ) and I am not about to remove the cabinets and drywall again if I do not have to.

The leak is from a crack (hairline) in the copper stub out (approx 1") so I was thinking of it could be an easy fix (I hope)

Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

You might be able to cut the line in the middle of that split and repair this with a slide-on neoprene rubber Fernco coupling the size of the drain pipe. A Fernco is a rubber sleeve with stainless steel clamps on both ends, and are code-approved for drain lines.
Good Luck!

Thanks Mike,

Went out that day found exactly what you discribed and worked like a charm.

Great! Isn't DIY "fun" when it works. LOL
May you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
