kenmore water softener
Hi, hope all are well. I have a kenmore water softener, approx. 6-7 yrs old. I've replaced some seals and small ticket items through the yrs but on a whole not a lot of problems with it. I've never had to run it more than once a week,(just the 3 of us), but recently after a regen I've had to run water for a while because there is some residual salt that doesn't get washed away. I know kenmore isn't the best softener but it has always met our needs. Was wondering if it's trying to tell me that it's getting tired thanks in advanced

Sounds like you are getting inadequate rinse--the flow is not what it is supposed to be. The time of the rinse is not user adjustable. The flow for the rinse is controlled by a flow control washer and can be reduced if the drain hose is obstructed or kinked or the hole in the washer is obstructed.
Check the drain hose for kinks or obstructions. Check the Drain Line Flow Control for foreign matter partially blocking the drain flow. If there is a screen on the water inlet check it for dirt or other obstruction. I |

kenmore water softener
I replaced the drain hose on my softener, and put a clear one on. I can see the drain hose fill with water but there is no pressure on rinse cycle. I took the venturi apart and everything looked clear but I took it all apart anyway and let everything soak on vinegar still no difference. When I run water there is still an abundance of salt that comes out the first couple of minutes. Wondering if I have a blockage somewhere else, thanks in advance

If you have the manual for your softener check the trouble shooting section and in particular the "fill flow plug"
Here is a link to a Kenmore manual that MAY match yours: http://homeappliance.manualsonline.c...l?idRes=502757 |

Does it have a pressure reducing and increasong washer which have different size holes? I know the polaris pool cleaner has pressure washers.
