Kenmore 350 series water softener problem

Hello, I was hoping someone could give me a little insight on an issue I am having. A while back the tank filled with water and after searching the issue I found that I had to clean the Venturi nozzle. The screen inside was caked in rust. I cleaned it, scooped all the water out of the tank and pressed regen. It seemed to be good for a couple days until I started smelling iron in the water again. The tank was filled again.

I have found that when it starts to regen it goes directly into a fill state and the LCD screen does not change to countdown screen showing the time left for the cycle. If I push regen again the screen appears and goes into a backwash state. I think when it goes to regen it goes to that fill stage and never goes any further.

Would anyone have an idea on what could be happening? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

the venturi pores could still be clogged with rust. try using some redout or potassium permanganite (i think) to clean the rust inside the pores.
