Jackhammering

We have lived in our home about 17 years, built new, recently I have had this problem with one of three identical Moen faucets where there is a loud noise in the hot water side and the faucet will shut off entirely. I replaced the faucet with a new Moen and have the same identical problem. Anyone have an answer?

sounds like air in the pipes to me...which, I'd turn on all the faucets in the house with hot water....once they all run good for a minute or two, then turn them off one by one by starting at the highest faucet and work your way down. If the kitchen sink has a high arch to it, do that before any bathrooms on the same floor. I hope that solves your problem for ya, Im curious to see what others suggest

Are there isolating valves under the sink? Sounds like a loose washer to me.

Air in the pipes? Air would just be bled out by city pressure.

Might want to check the isolation valve under the sink, sounds like the seat has broken loose and is floating in the valve body.
