to insulate or not
 
finishing my basement and will be dry walling ceiling .....do I insulate water pipes ? they are cold water pipes... thanks

The question is too general. I presume we're talking about copper pipes? If your water pipes are installed on exterior walls (bad idea) then you should insulate the wall on the cold side of the pipes. If they're in cantilevered joist spaces, insulate. If they're in other parts of the basement and the basement and the house above is properly heated there is no need to insulate your pipes to protect them from freezing.

sorry.. they are copper .. in the joist .. will be enclosed in dry wall ceiling worried about condensation ..thanks will insulate :thumbup:
