Installing a Utility Sink

I'd like to install a utility sink in a basement. The plumbing in the house is pvc so I think the drainage would be relatively easy.
The question that I have is related to distance between the drain on the sink and the main house sewage line. I assume that the sink drain needs to be higher than the clean-out. Is there a minimum distance that exists or as long is the sink drain is higher am I OK?
