Installing Shower Stem

My hot water in my shower would not shut off. The handle just turned and turned. It is a Price Pfister. I noticed on the old stem the screw on the end and its washer were missing. I replaced the stem and the water would turn off, but not on. Do I install the stem in the open or closed position?

Installing Shower Stem

Have you called Price Fisters technical help line?

That's the best bet for you with this problem IMO.---Mike---
