Installing new shower arm.

When I screwed in my new shower arm as far as I can by hand it points up at about 1 or 2 o'clock rather than down at 6 o'clock. Can I tighten it that far without breaking something? And what type tool should I use?

be careful , this what i came up with i use 1/2x6"nipple and coupling , tightened the coup to the nipple that is my show arm installer.Screw the show arm into the wall[ hand tight] take your new tool w/coup end to the show arm[ hand tight] this will give you more leverage and without any tool marks i use one hand near the wall to give support on the show arm

I'm sorry but I don't understand this. I looked up a 1/2x6"nipple and coupling and it looks like it would connect two female ends. Or is the nipple the "male" and the coupling the "female?" I'm sorry if I'm being dense. I used #5 pipe dope.

OK here are some changes. I calculated the number of degrees wrong and the position of the arm. It's actually point to almost 3 o'clock and needs to point down to 6 o'clock so it is off by about 90 degrees.
