Installing a gas line, pre-planning
First post here, and I'm wondering if you might be able to help a bit! I've run short runs of gas pipe with success, but my new place looks a bit more challenging.
The main gas line of the house runs along the inside of the steel I beam that supports the house, and branches off perpendicular (same side) to a utility closet that houses the furnace and hot water heater.
I want to add a tee, and continue that line another 30 feet, bring the line up and over the other side of the I beam (opposite side), and through the floor. The basement is finished, and I'm curious if I would have to install a short drip line at the I beam, or right underneath the line that will go up through the floor to a new gas range. If so, how long?
Any other pointers on fishing this run over the I beam would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance.
