installing a bathroom in basement with plumbing already installed in floor.

There are three 2" pipes in floor. 1 is right by the main drain. 2 is about 4 ft away(shower). 3 is about 2 ft away(sink). The toilet drain is a sealed one on the floor a ft away from maindrain. I have a few Questions

1. The shower is going on the cement floor. Do I have to break the cement around the drain for the shower to install?

2. Can I build up the shower only, to save from breaking cement?

1. All fixtures must be vented after the trap. Is there an existing vent there that you can tie them into, preferably from the toilet drain?
2. There should be a trap already installed, but pour water down the pipe and shine a flashlight down it to confirm that it has water standing in a trap, or you'll have to break the concrete to install one.

Do not forget to get a proper permit and inspections for the work. Check with your local Building Inspection Department for requirements.

Also, be sure you like the layout as it is now. We bought a house with an unfinished basement (roughed in plumbing) and not much thought went into the unfinished area by the builder. I think they relied on our non critical eyes while we were looking at the house. We didn't pay attention to the unfinished space. Anyway, getting to my point. Now is the best time to move plumbing and create a bathroom YOU want. I found out the breaking up of concrete is not difficult, just simple manual labour!
