Install kicker or place cabinets in front of existing radiator?
 

Well, the title says it all.

We have one wall completely open in our kitchen that had a small table for eat-in style. We want to put an extra set of cabinets there, upper and lower, but that wall has a 3 ft HW radiator.

The basement is right under and the boiler about 15 ft away. My thoughts are 1) by pass that radiator and just continue the pipe through basement to the next room,
2)install a kicker heater under the base cabinets, or
3) drop in base cabinets in front of the radiator.

These are going to be kind of a floating island idea. Not a permanant install but still important as we are low on counter surface area.

Anyone with experience in anything like this?
