Install a check valve on cold line?

I have hot water coming out the cold faucet in my restaurant. I believe I isolated the problem to the pot wash sink - during the day both faucets are left open, and the water is controlled with a sprayer.

Can I fix this by putting a check valve on the cold water side?

If so, is this easy to do (if Im not a plumber)?

Thanks.

Do you have an expansion tank?? If you stop the expansion the water pressure will have to go somewhere T& P will open

Check valve will work. Not sure what that exp tank comment was about. The ease of install depends on a lot of things.

That's only if you put the check valve between the main and the water heater. He is not doing that.
