Insinkerator PRO models?

What is the difference between Insinkerator evolution PRO series sold at plumbing supplies with a less flashy packaging vs the regular evolution sold at big box stores?

Both have the same compact, essential and excel models.

I see it's been 2 1/2 years since this question was asked and still no one has responded. And now here I am wondering the same thing. I even joined this website just to find an answer, thinking the answer wouldn't become visable to me until i signed on. But, guess that wasn't the case. . . . Well, in any case, if anyone can help us out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello EMK and welcome the best darn DIY'r site on the web.

I have had an insinkerater pro series for sometime now from one of the box stores and it works flawlessly.

But I couldn't tell you the difference, compare the amp rating of both, more amps = better unit.

When its all said and done there is usually more said than done

Check the hp ratings. 3/4 hp vs 1 hp. too
Check insinkerator's site to compare, there's about 5 models in the Evolution series.

Thanks for your repsonses! I finally bought a regular ISE Evolution Compact 3/4 hp at Home Depot. And it has the same amps (8.1) as the ISE Evolution PRO Compact 3/4 hp that the Ferguson's distributor sells - even the casing looks identical, too. But the regular version at Home Depot cost me $179 and the PRO model at Ferguson's would have been $324. With that price differential, I think the Home Depot model will do me just fine.
