inground swimming pool pipes leak when pump running..

2 inch pvc pipes running from pump to and from inground pool...can I pull say a 1 and 1/2 hose through the pipe(50 feet long) and so have new non-leaking pipe without digging it all up?? near the pool pipe is under cement pad..what kind of pipe would pull through easy and what size??

I would say no. Your piping is sized based on the pump. If you restrict it too much, you could cause problems. I'm no pool guy, but that's pump basics right there.

What size pump do you have - hp ?

pulling new smaller pipe through existing line

pump is 1hp...a plumber here thought the same..that if you went down too much in size of pipe pulled through you could have problems...will see what other people think...

My 1hp pipe was connected with 1.5" plumbing, not a lot of flow
The 1 hp was on a different filter, constricted the flow I think
My 1.5hp w/new filter is now on the same pipe & much better flow
