InDirect Drain for Wet Bar Sink?

Hello, I need some advise.

We are in process of finishing the basement. My wife wants a wet Bar, problem is, is that there is no drain near where she wants it. I have had two licensed plumbers come out. I doubt that this sink would be used 5 times a year. The basement will have a bed room, family room/movie room, and a full bath and storage.

First guy says he can run an in-direct drain through the wall where it can tie into the floor drain by the hot water heater, water softner. This would be about a 10 ft run, and cost is where we want it.

Second guy said that an indirect drain would not pass inspection, and he needs to bust up the concrete and connect to the main waste line, and the vent line.

With the two options, if we have to go with the second guy i can easily talk my wife out of the wet bar due to the high cost. I just don't want to pay for an indirect drain, and then have it not pass inspection.

Does anyone know what the code is for this in Minnesota?

Thanks

The appropriate code will be whatever your local Building Inspection Department says that it is. Call them and ask. Codes typically can change from county to county.
Good Luck!
Mike
