How to repair Delta mixing valve (diverter stem)

The stem on my Delta mixing valve was initially leaking. It eventually fell out. It shoots a stream of water out, when it is in the shower mode. How do I repair the stem on the valve?

Only way I can see it leaking or coming out is if the packing nut came completely loose.
Contact Moen and they will send you a whole new stem for free.
As soon as it was leaking you should have removed the knob and tighten the nut.

The second picture shows the stem I'm referring to. The spring shouldn't be visible. I can pull it out completely. It is a Delta mixing valve. Do they have this type of part at HD or Lowes?

Looks like the diverter is shot. No biggy, easy fix.

Yes the big box, plumbing supply, or local hardware store may carry them. Take the old one with you. Call first and save a trip. If not, delta will send you one out. Just a suggestion.

Click on link for more info. Thanks.
