How to remove the Tub/Shower Faucet Lever Handle?

Hello! My Peerless bathtub faucet drips. See the picture

I have ordered the part Valve Cartridge but was unable to remove the Lever Handle. I first removed the Set Screw but I could not pull out the Lever Handle. Is the Lever Handle supposed to be easily pulled out after the Set Screw has been removed or I should remove something first or remove the faucet behind the wall? See another picture.

Please tell how to remove the Tub/Shower Faucet Lever Handle to replace the valve cartridge. Thank you.

If you have the screw out the hande should pull right off.
Over time some corrosion may have set in so some wiggling and a firm tug should get it off.

What to do next after the Lever Handle has been pulled out?

Hi, I have eventfully pulled out the Faucet Lever Handle. Now I need to handle that copper sleeve. Should I counterclockwise that copper sleeve before I can pull out the cartridge? See the picture.

Please advise how to pull out the cartridge. Thank you.

unscrew the brass nut,top arrow ccw be careful if the whole body of the valve turns you may kink/cause a leak to the 2 - 1/4" copper lines. If u can use a back up wrench or cut it off if won't come loose.
