How to Remove Purple PVC Cleaner From Vinyl

After a month our grandson and I finally have our half bath 99% finished. We still have a month or so to just get everything back to abnormal, like replacing the floor and a few joists, mud ceil outside band etc. The fellows who worked on this house before did a really hacked up job.

Well anyway, on to the question, I dropped a drop of purple PVC cleaner on the vinyl floor and we have done everything we can think of to get it up, nothing will touch that stuff. Do any of you have a secret weapon to remove this spot other than replacing the flooring? I hate to rip all of it back up and install again.

Mineral spirits on a terry cloth rag using just the tip of your finger to minimize the chance of also removing the finish.

It is some nasty stuff, for DIY jobs I use clear cleaner, for inspected jobs the inspector wants to see that you used cleaner.

Thanks Joe, I don't know why I didn't think of the clear cleaner, when we get to the main bath remodel I will use the clear. I will give the mineral spirits a try, we have tried fingernail polish remover and alcohol so far but it didn't do any good. Thanks buddy

I haven't seen clear cleaner in about four years---I sure miss it--that purple stuff seems to spatter for ten feet if you let it.--hate that ---

I know of nothing that wall get the purple off of vinyl flooring---

That is what I am afraid of Mike, it just may have to stay there and wear off, I sure don't feel like taking every thing back up right now. I am afraid to try too much, like Danny said it may desolve the flooring.

Thanks Mike that is encouraging.

I ran into a situation I haven't seen before, when I took the electric wall heater out I noticed it had a separate wire as a ground, when I went under the house I found the other end of the ground wire just laying on the ground attached to nothing. How could the wall heat work without a ground wire?
