How to put wax on 3" inside fit toilet boot?

After more investigation, I found out I cannot use outside fit toilet flange for the basement bathroom, because the pipe is from concrete and there is not enough room unless I break the concrete which I don't want to do, especially I already lay tiles...

the other option I can see is to use inside fit flange, the problem with this guy is it is so shadow and the hole is smaller to put in the regular wax ring with funnel on top , if I put the wax alone without funnel on it, it is ok, but I can imagine there is a gap between the toilet opening and the flange's hole where there is no funnel guiding the waste, the waste is kind of free falling into the hole, hopefully ... although this gap is really small, like half an inch....etc. but is this a good idea? or how to use the inside fit boot with wax ring?

Thanks for answering.

What your wanting to use is not code approved here, so in my neck of the woods get a chipper out and do it right.

I did it according you said... and used the regular flange... after chipping out the concrete with hammer drills....

I also got the same feeling as you worrying things won't work... and did it the proper way...

It's all done now...

I wonder why those not code compliance item allow to be sold,...

There is lots of things sold that are not allowed by code, it's a way of life, this is why we go to school for 4 years.

I'm glad you fixed it right.

there are so many variations.... one contractor told me before... better goes with the traditional stuff .... most of the time... rather than new invention...

for this zero tolerence installation... I pick the most common type 4x3 flange and installed it...

thanks anyway...
