How many/where to drill holes sump basin

Im about to install my sump basin to collect ground water / drain tile system in basement, the pit i ordered has no pre drilled holes.

i know i need to drill a 4'' hole on each side for the drain tiles, but should i be drilling a bunch of little holes in the basin itself to collect additional water?

if so, should i not go above/below a certain area?

reccomended hole size?

If the drain tiles serve the entire basement, no need for any additional holes in the pit. If the drain tiles do not cover the entire basement, they need to be extended so they do serve the basement.

Drilling additional small (1/2") holes above the level of the 4 inch holes accomplishes nothing.

Drilling additional small (1/2") holes below the level of the 4 inch holes will allow desaturation of the soil below the level of the drain pipes but only for a few feet radius around the pit. This is optional. A slight hazard exists that mud may enter the pit through these additional holes.
The good conscientious technician or serviceperson will carry extra oils and lubricants in case the new pump did not come with oil or the oil was accidentally spilled, so the service call can be completed without an extra visit.
