Nothing wrong with CPVC. No reason not to trust it. It has been used for many years, and is incredibly DIYer friendly. Personally, I'd install Flowguard Gold CPVC over any other CPVC.
The only downsides I can find with CPVC are when I compare it to some of the attributes of PEX. Specifically, not being able to bend it (more fittings) and it isn't resistant to breakage in freezing temperatures. But the same case could be made against copper.
