How long to heat the brass fitting
When sweating a brass fitting to a copper pipe, how long should you heat up the brass fitting before you move the flame to the joint where the copper pipe joins the brass fitting? I will probably be using map gas.
Thanks |

How long to heat the brass fitting
I dunno 15-20 seconds? Never counted you just see the solder flow nicely and you know you got it.
You never really "heat the joint" you heat the object i.e. a fitting or valve at the thickest part, you want to draw solder into the joint, not just melt solder onto the joint. |
