How Flush to the Wall does the Drain Stub Go

Replumbing Kitchen Sink. How much should the Drain stubout stick out from the wall. Just enough that the threads + the SJ nut stick out when the 1/2 back of the base cabinets go in ?

i like to stub around 6 inches out from wall then after cabinet and sink are installed cut some off if needed to hit p-trap and then glue trap fitting. i like to put it it at 12 inches off of floor and yes that seems real low but i have had to go to a lot of counter top remodels and cut out back off cabinets to lower drain so it will work. due to deep under mount sinks with garbage disposal.
it is amazing how many calls i get from a customer saying they have a easy job just need kitchen sink hooked back up and you get there and old drain is to high
