How do I remove this shower faucet cartridge?

The three attachments show a shower faucet cartridge that is leaking. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove it. It looks like it should just slide out, but it doesn't. I had to stick my arm up thru an opening to get the side view (several pics taken blind - that was the best one).

I don't know the brand and can't find it on any of the other pieces that I removed.
Thanks in advance.

It should pull out. You probably need some vice grips or something to grab onto the stem with : Be careful not to break it.

Usually they have a fair amount of suction behind them and it takes a bit of force to overcome it. You may have to wiggle it a little as you pull, but again : be careful not to break the stem.

Is that a single handle or a 2 handle or 3 handle valve?

They kinda look like delta cartridges to me.... could be a delta or some other off brand that uses delta parts.
