How do I remove round shower stems?

I have a slow leak from my bath/shower. I have taken it all apart and I am stuck. I have brass shower stems that are completely round. There is no hexagonal part to help with removal. What should I do??

Cannel locks or vice grips right on the brass but make sure it is screwed in.Careful with other fittings tho.

Uhhh...pipe wrench. Channel locks or vice grips don't grab like pipe wrenches. The force applied to them is primarily used for grip and not torque, where as a pipe wrench, most of your force is transferred into torque.
